The mission of we blue run to remember aligns perfectly with the pursuit of the endurance mindset 💪, proving that facing chosen challenges helps prepare us for the unexpected “hard” that life delivers.
Guest Name/Episode: Lisa Hallett, Founder (Episode #030 🎙️).
Mission/Context: This organization is a global community 🌍 with approximately 60 Saturday run communities worldwide. They embody their mission to honor the service and sacrifice of the American military through active remembrance. They begin their gatherings with a circle of remembrance, speaking the names of the Fallen 🎗️, thereby carrying their stories in their steps. The organization runs a vital youth mentorship program for children of Fallen military 👧👦 and trains surviving families to run their first marathons. Lisa Hallett notes that this work helps families who have been “given hard” to “choose hard,” propelling them toward an “extraordinary version of self”.
Key Programs: The community is widely recognized for hosting powerful Tribute Miles at major races, including the Marine Corps Marathon (at Hains Point, mile 13). These miles feature images and names of heroes, often accompanied by local community members holding American flags in honor of each service member. You can spot the organization by “seeing we blue in the wild when you see a we blue shirt”.
How to Connect and Support:
